Frequently Asked Questions

Escape rooms are fun, exciting and challenging activities for friends and family. The aim of the game is to solve the clues and puzzles within the room and escape the room within 60 minutes.

Anyone can participate in an escape room, it’s a great activity for family, friends and work colleagues; escape rooms are also a great team building activity.

No. The door is unlocked so you are able to get out at any time. The room is also monitored by staff at all times.

All bookings will be exclusive to your group. We will never match you up with other people.

Please ensure all team members arrive at the booked time, and allow 15 minutes after the game for debriefing and photo session.

Clacton:

Parking is available nearby to the escape room. We recommend parking on Crossfield Road opposite the escape for free (2 hour limit) parking.

Harwich:

There are many streets around the escape room with no parking restrictions. There is also Milton Road Car Park nearby.

Ipswich:

We recommend parking in Fore Street Car Park, or alternatively Total Car Park on Slade Street. Both are located just a short walk from the escape room.

Walton:

We recommend parking in the Mill Lane Car Park, on the road opposite the escape room.

Clacton:

It is just a short 5 minute walk from Clacton-on-Sea train station.

Harwich:

You can find the location HERE. The address is: 2 Central House, High Street, Harwich, Essex, CO12 3PT

It is just a short 2 minute walk from Dovercourt train station.

Harwich:

It is a 15 minute walk along the marina from Ipswich train station.

Walton:

It is just a short 5 minute walk from Walton-on-the-Naze train station.

Most of our rooms have no age restriction. However if anyone in the group is younger than 12 then there must be an adult playing as part of the group.
 
Our horror room ‘The Damned’ is only recommended for people 13+ and must always have at least one adult (18+) in the group. Check the page for this room for more information.

No you don’t need to bring anything. However, if you need to wear glasses for reading then we do recommend that you bring your reading glasses as it will make it easier for solving puzzles and entering codes.

This is a live event game and once booked we cannot accept any cancellations or refunds under any circumstances.
If the game is due to be played within the next 7 days we cannot accept any reschedule request under any circumstances. If your booked game is in more than 7 days time we may be able to help. There is a £25 admin fee that must be paid if a game is rescheduled. Please contact us at info@cluetopia.uk with details of your booking at the earliest possible time, as any transfer of booking date/time would need to be completed 7 days prior to your original booked game.

No, photography or recording of any type is forbidden. This is to protect the mystery of the game. Any persons found breaking this rule will be asked to leave.
 
After the game there will be a debriefing and a photo session to recap and capture your experience.

Wear comfortable clothes, you may find yourself kneeling or crawling in order to find a clue.

Due to the layout and position of the rooms it can make it difficult to access and play in certain rooms, so we recommend contacting us before booking and we will try our best to accommodate for you and your team.

In most of our rooms (except “The Damned”) you are not required to do any physically demanding activities and there are no fear factors in the rooms. However, if you do have any questions please feel free to contact us.
